The Sweet Ginger Program

A community-first initiative powered by craft, compassion, and circular design.

At Mr. Maria’s, we believe creativity can drive impact. The Sweet Ginger Program transforms our studio’s leftover textiles into meaningful support for families who need it most. This two-track model operationalizes our sustainability principles while expanding access to essential baby clothing.

Here are our two tracks—and how you can either receive a boost or offer support, not just during the holiday season but all year long.

Two Tracks

  • NICU Donation Pipeline

We collect high-quality fabric scraps from our production line and upcycle them into soft, durable baby garments. Finished pieces are donated directly to the NICUs of local hospitals, where they support newborns and families navigating critical moments of care.

If you’re an experienced sewist who wants to activate your skills for good, we’d love to fold you into this volunteer pipeline. Email info@mrmarias.com with a brief note about your interest, and we’ll align you to upcoming production waves.

  • Community Maker Kits

Black Friday often privileges people with spending power. We’re reframing that narrative. This season, we’re prioritizing families who could use a little extra support.

If you need winter baby clothes but budget is tight, Mr. Maria’s will send you a free Maker Kit—including fabric and an easy-to-follow pattern—so you can create what you need at home. No purchase required, but kits are currently limited.

Send your request and your baby’s sizing to info@mrmarias.com, and we’ll deploy a kit tailored to your needs.
